
The teams of Taylor Woodrow are pushing ahead with the project to extend the Docklands Light Railway, the driverless, elevated light railway network serving the city’s eastern suburbs. The project involves upgrading the infrastructure,currently used by trains with two carriages, to enable it to carry longer, three-carriage trains during the Olympic Games. Worth £208m (€230m), this design-build contract covers extending the platforms at 18 stations, the construction of two new viaducts and the renovation of
South Quay station.
