AFTER ONE YEAR OF WORK, GEOPAC, the Ménard subsidiary in Canada, has just completed the soil stabilisation project for the pillars of the Golden Ears bridge (British Columbia). To consolidate the bed of the Fraser River, Geopac used a seabed vibro-compaction solution. The columns were built from a barge and placed by means
of a GPS system. The land-based operations for the north and south bridge abutments used conventional ballasted columns to a depth of 35 metres.
