VINCI Construction UK is building the future London express rail link. Crossrail will serve Greater London starting in 2018..

VINCI Construction Grands Projects and Bachy Soletanche Ltd (VINCI Construction) are part of the BBMV consortium, which also includes Alpine BeMo Tunnelling, Balfour Beatty and Morgan Sindall. The tunnel construction contract for the Liverpool Street and Whitechapel stations in London has a value of €275 million (VINCI share: 36.7%).

The contract is part of the Crossrail Project, a rail express link running east-west across London that is set to begin operating in 2018.

The contract covers construction of the Liverpool Street and Whitechapel stations and related structures. Each station has two platforms with a length of approximately 400 metres, numerous cross-passages and underground branches connecting to the new Crossrail stations. The works represent a total of about 190,000 cu. metres of excavation and 60,000 cu. metres of concrete lining.

Work got under way in February 2011 and is scheduled for completion in 2016.
